You ended your presentation flawlessly only to have your prospect say “I missed the opportunity” – I think I heard about this before and I should have
gotten in then now it’s too late. How should you respond? You know the opportunity is right now and better than ever, your enthusiasm will assist you to enroll your new team member.
Here’s a tip, simply say:
”Now is the best time ever to get involved. The company is capitalized, management team is solid, compensation plan is set and leadership has all the training, resources & tools available in a step by step system to assist you to grow your business.”
Another way to overcome the objection “I missed the opportunity:
“I used to think that as well. However, our company is in X amount of countries and so many of my contacts have contacts in those countries which allows us to expand the business quickly. Utilizing the social media platforms such as Facebook & LinkedIn, we are able to reach out to people all around the world. There are people looking for opportunity in all corners of the world. Just because you’ve heard of our company here locally doesn’t mean others have heard of it in other parts of our country or around the world.”
Get excited when your prospect says “I missed the opportunity” and be strong in your reply. Another great response:
“The company has just entered into the momentum phase. A clear path has been provided for us. Now is the time for us to build this together. The time is now to contact those who saw it a first time to take a second look.”
Most likely your prospect was not ready to get involved the first time they heard the opportunity. Now they will be more receptive knowing someone else, you, and possibly others are involved in the business with them.
I also like to ask the prospect:
“How much longer are you going to allow opportunities to pass you by?”
Get inside your prospect heart and find out the real reason why they said “I missed the opportunity” you’ll be surprised that it is usually something else entirely. Then you can provide the necessary information. You can overcome the objection “I missed the opportunity” then your prospect will want to join your team and build a large successful business together.
When they say YES get them started as you have been trained. You want the answer to be YES but if it happens to be no, then consider it a “no, not now”. Situations change circle back to them at a later date. End by saying –
Thank you for your time, I value your time and opinion. I am excited about what I am doing and since we are (friends, co workers, family), I am sure you will want to hear about my success as I want to hear about your successes and what you are doing in the future. Again thank you for your time.
